Michael Diegelmann (CEO cometis) examines the current state of MiFID implementation with a view to research. Diegelmann: “The field resembles a construction site, where sometimes not even the excavation pit has been digged”. Many institutes fail to make clear statements. Issuers who inquire about the costs of their coverage are fobbed off with unspecific statements. If potential clients catch up on what research packages at different prices are made up of, some Heads of Research do not have any conclusive answer ready. “Many investment banks should therefore do their homework. They need to be clear about what distinguishes their research and investor access from other firms’ offerings and define concrete service packages that are comprehensibly priced for SMEs,” says Diegelmann.<\/p>\n
