Reported consolidated sales in the first quarter of 2016 were EUR 273.7 (252.3) million, which corresponds to an 8.5 percent increase over the previous year&#8217;s period. In organic terms (i.e., adjusted for currency effects, the sale of the Plant Equipment Group (PEG) division and the sales contribution of the Post-Up Stand and BiGDUG acquisitions in 2015), Group sales in the first quarter increased by 5.7 percent compared to the previous year\u02bcs period. A difference in the speed of growth between the European and US activities could still be seen during the reporting period.<\/p>\n<p>Felix Zimmermann, CEO of TAKKT AG, sees the development of the Group as positive: &#8220;With the successful start to the year, we are continuing the strong performance of 2015. Our activities in North America in particular still show robust growth. With respect to the rest of the year, we expect the positive development in the USA to continue and slight organic growth in Europe.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In the first quarter of 2016, the gross profit margin of 43.6 percent was above the level of the previous year&#8217;s period of 43.0 percent. Group earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) improved to EUR 47.2 (43.8) million. The EBITDA margin of 17.2 (17.3) percent remained virtually unchanged. The one-time effects in the first quarter of this year as well as the reference period need to be taken into consideration here. In the first quarter of 2015, the disposal of PEG resulted in a one-time gain of EUR 3.3 million. The outstanding variable purchase price liabilities for the acquisition of Post-Up and BiGDUG were reduced by EUR 3.3 million in the reporting period. This resulted in other operating income in the same amount. With respect to both companies, TAKKT&#8217;s Management Board no longer expects to achieve the ambitious growth and key earnings figures used as the basis for the initial consolidation of the variable liabilities. The adjusted EBITDA margin in both periods came to 16.0 percent.<\/p>\n<p>The TAKKT cash flow (defined as profit for the period plus depreciation and amortization, impairment of non-current assets and deferred taxes recognized as income) of EUR 34.0 (34.4) million remained virtually unchanged from the previous year.<\/p>\n<p>TAKKT EUROPE: Recovery in Switzerland<br \/>\nThe TAKKT EUROPE segment achieved organic growth of 1.6 percent in the first quarter. Reported sales increased to EUR 142.7 (134.5) million, which corresponds to a 6.1 percent increase over the previous year&#8217;s period. BiGDUG&#8217;s sales contribution was a major reason for this increase. The British company was acquired in mid-2015. The Business Equipment Group (BEG) achieved organic growth in the low single-digit percentage range. This was mainly attributable to the high growth rate in the Nordic countries as well as in Eastern and Southern Europe. Even in Switzerland, growth in the local currency was very good after the sales slump resulting from uncapping of the Swiss franc in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. In contrast to this, business in Great Britain without BiGDUG developed negatively. The Packaging Solutions Group (PSG) showed a stable organic business performance. EBITDA for TAKKT EUROPE amounted to EUR 29.8 (27.3) million, while the margin came to 20.9 (20.3) percent.<\/p>\n<p>TAKKT AMERICA: Continued strong growth<br \/>\nThe TAKKT AMERICA segment also made a significant contribution to the positive development of the TAKKT Group in the first quarter of 2016. Organic growth came to 10.8 percent and is adjusted for currency effects as well as portfolio effects resulting from the disposal of PEG and the acquisition of Post-Up Stand. Sales reported in euros even rose by 11.2 percent. Among other effects, the American companies oriented towards the service sector benefited from strong consumer confidence in the USA. The Specialties Group (SPG) achieved an increase in organic sales in the low double-digit percentage range and the Office Equipment Group (OEG) high single-digit growth. TAKKT AMERICA increased EBITDA to EUR 20.8 (18.5) million, while the EBITDA margin came to 15.8 (15.7) percent.<\/p>\n<p>Outlook: TAKKT confirms forecast for 2016<br \/>\nThe relevant conditions for the continued economic development of the Group remain largely unchanged and intact. The International Monetary Fund has recently adjusted its economic growth forecasts for both regions slightly downwards. Claude Tomaszewski, CFO of TAKKT AG, on the current outlook: &#8220;Despite the latest somewhat weaker assessment of conditions, we continue to stick to our forecast for 2016 based on the figures presented today. April 2016. Die positive Entwicklung aus dem Jahr 2015 konnte TAKKT in den ersten drei Monaten dieses Jahres fortsetzen. Der berichtete Umsatz im ersten Quartal 2016 lag bei 273,7 (252,3) Millionen Euro und damit 8,5 Prozent \u00fcber dem Vorjahresquartal. Organisch (d.h. bereinigt um W\u00e4hrungseffekte, den Verkauf der Sparte Plant Equipment Group (PEG) sowie die Umsatzbeitr\u00e4ge der 2015 erworbenen Gesellschaften Post-Up Stand und BiGDUG) stieg der Konzernumsatz im ersten Quartal um 5,7 Prozent gegen\u00fcber dem Vorjahreszeitraum. Im Berichtszeitraum war weiterhin ein unterschiedliches Wachstumstempo bei den europ\u00e4ischen und amerikanischen Aktivit\u00e4ten zu beobachten.\r\n\r\nFelix Zimmermann, Vorstandsvorsitzender der TAKKT AG, sieht die Entwicklung des Konzerns positiv: \"Mit dem gelungenen Jahresauftakt kn\u00fcpfen wir an das starke Jahr 2015 an. Vor allem unsere Aktivit\u00e4ten in Nordamerika wachsen nach wie vor gut. Mit Blick auf den Rest des Jahres rechnen wir weiterhin mit einer insgesamt guten Entwicklung in den USA und einem leichten organischen Wachstum in Europa.\"\r\n\r\nDie Rohertragsmarge lag im ersten Quartal 2016 bei 43,6 Prozent und damit \u00fcber dem Niveau des Vorjahreszeitraums von 43,0 Prozent. Das Konzernergebnis vor Zinsen, Steuern und Abschreibungen (EBITDA) verbesserte sich auf 47,2 (43,8) Millionen Euro. Die EBITDA-Marge blieb mit 17,2 (17,3) Prozent fast unver\u00e4ndert. Hierbei sind sowohl f\u00fcr das erste Quartal dieses Jahres als auch f\u00fcr den Vergleichszeitraum Sondereffekte zu ber\u00fccksichtigen: Im ersten Quartal 2015 resultierte aus dem Verkauf der PEG ein einmaliger Erl\u00f6s von 3,3 Millionen. Euro. Im Berichtszeitraum erfolgte eine Reduzierung der ausstehenden variablen Kaufpreisverbindlichkeiten f\u00fcr die Akquisitionen von BiGDUG und Post-Up Stand um insgesamt 3,3 Millionen Euro, die zu einem sonstigen betrieblichen Ertrag in entsprechender H\u00f6he f\u00fchrte. Bei beiden Gesellschaften geht der TAKKT-Vorstand nicht mehr davon aus, dass die bei der Erstkonsolidierung der variablen Verbindlichkeiten zugrunde gelegten ambitionierten Wachstums- und Ergebniskennzahlen erreicht werden. Bereinigt lag die EBITDA-Marge in beiden Zeitr\u00e4umen bei 16,0 Prozent.\r\n\r\nDer TAKKT-Cashflow (definiert als Periodenergebnis plus Abschreibungen, Wertminderungen auf langfristiges Verm\u00f6gen und erfolgswirksam verbuchte latente Steuern) lag mit 34,0 (34,4) Millionen Euro auf einem nahezu unver\u00e4nderten Niveau.\r\n\r\nTAKKT EUROPE: Erholung in der Schweiz\r\nDer Gesch\u00e4ftsbereich TAKKT EUROPE erreichte im ersten Quartal ein organisches Wachstum von 1,6 Prozent. Der berichtete Umsatz stieg auf 142,7 (134,5) Millionen Euro und lag damit 6,1 Prozent \u00fcber dem Vorjahreszeitraum. Der Umsatzbeitrag von BiGDUG war ein wesentlicher Grund f\u00fcr diese Steigerung. Das britische Unternehmen war Mitte 2015 akquiriert worden. In der Business Equipment Group (BEG) wurde ein organisches Wachstum im niedrigen einstelligen Prozentbereich erreicht. Positiv trugen vor allem die hohen Wachstumsraten in Skandinavien sowie in Ost- und S\u00fcdeuropa hierzu bei. Auch in der Schweiz war das Wachstum in Landesw\u00e4hrung sehr gut, nachdem die Freigabe des Schweizer Franken im Vorjahresquartal zu einem Umsatzeinbruch gef\u00fchrt hatte. Dagegen war die Gesch\u00e4ftsentwicklung in Gro\u00dfbritannien ohne BiGDUG negativ. Das Gesch\u00e4ft der Packaging Solutions Group (PSG) entwickelte sich organisch stabil. Das EBITDA f\u00fcr TAKKT EUROPE lag bei 29,8 (27,3) Millionen Euro, die Marge bei 20,9 (20,3) Prozent.\r\n\r\nTAKKT AMERICA: Weiterhin starkes Wachstum\r\nDer Gesch\u00e4ftsbereich TAKKT AMERICA trug auch im ersten Quartal 2016 stark zur positiven Entwicklung des TAKKT-Konzerns bei. Das organische Wachstum betrug 10,8 Prozent und ist bereinigt um W\u00e4hrungseffekte und um Portfolioeffekte durch den Verkauf der PEG sowie die Akquisition von Post-Up Stand. Der in Euro berichtete Umsatz wuchs sogar um 11,2 Prozent. Die auf den Dienstleistungssektor fokussierten amerikanischen Gesellschaften profitierten dabei unter anderem vom guten Konsumklima in den USA. Die Specialties Group (SPG) erzielte eine organische Umsatzsteigerung im knapp zweistelligen, die Office Equipment Group (OEG) im hohen einstelligen Prozentbereich. TAKKT AMERICA steigerte das EBITDA auf 20,8 (18,5) Millionen Euro, die EBITDA-Marge lag bei 15,8 (15,7) Prozent.\r\n\r\nAusblick: TAKKT best\u00e4tigt Prognose f\u00fcr 2016\r\nDie relevanten Rahmenbedingungen f\u00fcr die weitere wirtschaftliche Entwicklung des Konzerns sind im Wesentlichen unver\u00e4ndert und intakt. Zuletzt wurden die Prognosen des Internationalen W\u00e4hrungsfonds f\u00fcr das Wirtschaftswachstum in beiden Regionen leicht nach unten korrigiert.
