In a meeting yesterday the Supervisory Board appointed Heiko Hegwein to the Management Board of TAKKT AG beginning February 1, 2018. Furthermore, the formation of an additional division called newport group has been adopted with effect from January 1, 2018. This will provide a more flexible environment for specific business models and thus create a basis for additional growth. <\/p>\n<p>After the 2017 filling of the function of Chief Digital Officer in all divisions of the TAKKT Group, as well as the establishment of a department at the TAKKT AG level for Group-wide coordination of the digitalization activities, a member of the Management Board with distinctive digital expertise was appointed for TAKKT AG. Heiko Hegwein (43) comes from Lidl Group, where in his last function as divisional board member he managed the digital transformation as well as the development of the e-commerce business. He also possesses in-depth industry knowledge in trade. In his new role, he will be responsible for implementing the digital agenda in the TAKKT Group as well as managing the new division. The appointment will be initially for three years.<\/p>\n<p>The division with the name newport group bundles the existing solely web-based businesses Certeo and BiGDUG of the Business Equipment Group (BEG) as well as the July 2017 acquired Mydisplays under a single roof. This reorganization will provide an environment for the younger, fast-growing web-focused business models in which they can more powerfully and independently position their branding, their product assortments and their technology infrastructure in the market. This will enable them to more easily focus on the requirements of smaller business customers, which have different needs than those of medium-sized and large corporate customers and which tend to be rather transaction-oriented in their purchasing. In addition, the TAKKT investment company (TAKKT Beteiligungsgesellschaft) with its investments in innovative start-ups will be brought into the newport group. The newport group shall become part of the TAKKT EUROPE segment and will continue to grow in the future both organically as well as through acquisitions.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;With Heiko Hegwein we have gained an acknowledged and experienced digital and trade expert for the TAKKT Management Board. Daneben wurde der Aufbau einer zus\u00e4tzlichen Sparte mit dem Namen newport-Gruppe zum 01. Januar 2018 verabschiedet. Diese wird f\u00fcr bestimmte Gesch\u00e4ftsmodelle ein flexibleres Umfeld bieten und damit die Grundlage f\u00fcr mehr Wachstum schaffen. \r\n\r\nNachdem in 2017 in allen Sparten der TAKKT-Gruppe die Funktion des Chief Digital Officers besetzt und auf Ebene der TAKKT AG ein Bereich zur konzernweiten Koordination der Digitalisierungsaktivit\u00e4ten aufgebaut wurde, konnte nun f\u00fcr die TAKKT AG ein Vorstand mit ausgepr\u00e4gter Digitalexpertise gewonnen werden. Heiko Hegwein (43) kommt von der Lidl-Gruppe, hat dort in seiner letzten Funktion als Bereichsvorstand die Digitale Transformation sowie den Aufbau des E-Commerce-Gesch\u00e4fts verantwortet und verf\u00fcgt \u00fcber fundierte Branchenkenntnisse im Handel. In seiner neuen Rolle wird er f\u00fcr die Umsetzung der Digitalen Agenda in der TAKKT-Gruppe sowie die F\u00fchrung der neuen Sparte verantwortlich sein. Die Berufung erfolgt zun\u00e4chst f\u00fcr drei Jahre.\r\n\r\nIn die neue Sparte mit dem Namen newport-Gruppe werden mit Certeo und BiGDUG die bisherigen reinen Web-Gesch\u00e4fte der Business Equipment Group (BEG) sowie die im Juli 2017 erworbene Mydisplays unter einem Dach geb\u00fcndelt. Mit dieser Neuorganisation erhalten die j\u00fcngeren, wachstumsstarken web-focused Gesch\u00e4ftsmodelle einen Hafen, in dem sie sich st\u00e4rker und eigenst\u00e4ndiger als bisher mit ihrer Markenf\u00fchrung, ihren Produktsortimenten und ihrer Technologieinfrastruktur im Markt positionieren k\u00f6nnen. Sie k\u00f6nnen ihr Gesch\u00e4ftsmodell damit leichter auf die Bed\u00fcrfnisse von kleineren Firmenkunden fokussieren, die einen anderen Bedarf als mittelgro\u00dfe und gro\u00dfe Firmenkunden haben und eher transaktionsorientiert einkaufen. Zudem wird auch die TAKKT Beteiligungsgesellschaft mit ihren Investments in innovative Start-ups in die newport-Gruppe eingebracht.
