This development is attributable to the company&#8217;s strategy to grow in the market against the backdrop of improved business activity in the sector in 2017. At the same time, SMT Scharf achieved earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) of EUR 4.5 million compared with EUR 2.5 million in the previous year. The company has therefore also outperformed its EBIT forecast (EUR 3.7 to 4.2 million) adjusted over the course of the year. As a result, SMT Scharf increased its consolidated annual net income notably to EUR 4.0 million (2016: EUR 1.3 million). In the 2018 fiscal year, SMT Scharf\u2019s Managing Board expects consolidated revenue in a range of between EUR 58 to 62 million. With the takeover of Canadian mining specialist RDH Mining Equipment completed in February 2018, SMT Scharf has supplemented its product portfolio by adding vehicles on rubber wheels and laid the foundations for leveraging extensive synergies in the international hard rock and tunnel market. Through the takeover of the leading provider of battery-driven vehicles equipped with lithium-ion technology for underground mining, SMT anticipates positive effects on its sales and earnings trend in the coming years. Furthermore, the Managing Board forecasts EBIT in a corridor of between EUR 4.5 and 5.5 million in 2018. Moreover, as a consequence of the findings of the German Financial Reporting Enforcement Panel (DPR) on the consolidated financial statements for 2015, the Group\u2019s financial statements as at 31 December 2016 were adjusted. Key figures, such as consolidated revenues and EBIT, remain unaffected by this measure. Changes in the financial result have led to a reduction in profit from ordinary activities (EBT) for 2016 fiscal year, which declined from EUR 2.9 million to EUR 2.6 million.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Company Profile<\/strong><br \/>\nThe SMT Scharf Group develops, builds and maintains transport equipment for underground mines as well as for tunnel construction sites. The main product consists of rail-bound railway systems which are used primarily in coal mines and for the underground mining of gold, platinum and other ores. There they transport men and material up to a payload of 48 tons on routes with inclines of up to 30 degrees. SMT Scharf also supplies chairlifts to the mining industry. In addition, the company offers rubber-wheeled diesel and electric vehicles for mining and tunnelling applications through the newly acquired mining specialists RDH Mining Equipment. M\u00e4rz 2018 \u2014 Die SMT Scharf AG (WKN 575198, ISIN DE0005751986) hat auf Basis vorl\u00e4ufiger IFRS-Zahlen den Konzernumsatz im Gesch\u00e4ftsjahr 2017 auf 52,1 Mio. Euro (2016: 42,6 Mio. Euro) gesteigert und damit die im Jahresverlauf 2017 nach oben angepasste Umsatzprognose (44 bis 48 Mio. Euro) \u00fcbertroffen. Diese Entwicklung ist auf die marktexpansive Strategie des Unternehmens vor dem Hintergrund einer verbesserten Branchenkonjunktur im Jahr 2017 zur\u00fcckzuf\u00fchren. Zugleich konnte SMT Scharf ein Ergebnis der betrieblichen T\u00e4tigkeit (EBIT) von 4,5 Mio. Euro erzielen nach 2,5 Mio. Euro im Vorjahr. Damit hat das Unternehmen die im<br \/>Jahresverlauf angepasste EBIT-Prognose (3,7 bis 4,2 Mio. Euro) ebenfalls \u00fcbertroffen. Folglich konnte SMT Scharf das Konzernjahresergebnis auf 4,0 Mio. Euro (2016: 1,3 Mio. Euro) deutlich verbessern.<\/p><p>F\u00fcr das Gesch\u00e4ftsjahr 2018 rechnet der Vorstand der SMT Scharf mit einem Konzernumsatz in einer Spanne von 58 bis 62 Mio. Euro. Mit der im Februar 2018 vollzogenen \u00dcbernahme des kanadischen Bergbauspezialisten RDH Mining Equipment konnte SMT Scharf das Produktportfolio um gummibereifte Fahrzeuge weiter erg\u00e4nzen und die Grundlage schaffen, um weitreichende Synergien im internationalen Hardrock- und Tunnelmarkt zu erzielen. Durch die \u00dcbernahme des f\u00fchrenden Anbieters f\u00fcr batteriebetriebene Fahrzeuge mit Lithium-Ionen-Technik f\u00fcr den Untertagebau erwartet SMT Scharf positive Effekte auf die Umsatz- und Ergebnisentwicklung f\u00fcr die kommenden Jahre. Des Weiteren prognostiziert der Vorstand f\u00fcr 2018 ein EBIT im Korridor von 4,5 bis 5,5 Mio. Euro.<\/p><p>Daneben wurde als Folgeeffekt aus den Feststellungen der Deutschen Pr\u00fcfstelle f\u00fcr Rechnungslegung (DPR) zum Konzernabschluss 2015 der Abschluss f\u00fcr den Konzern zum Stichtag 31.12.2016 angepasst. Wesentliche Kennzahlen wie der Konzernumsatz und das EBIT bleiben davon unber\u00fchrt. Durch \u00c4nderungen im Finanzergebnis hat sich das Ergebnis der gew\u00f6hnlichen Gesch\u00e4ftst\u00e4tigkeit f\u00fcr das Gesch\u00e4ftsjahr 2016 von 2,9 Mio. Euro auf 2,6 Mio. Euro verringert.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Unternehmensprofil<\/strong><br \/>Die SMT Scharf Gruppe entwickelt, baut und wartet Transportausr\u00fcstungen f\u00fcr den Bergbau unter Tage sowie f\u00fcr Tunnelbaustellen. Hauptprodukt sind entgleisungssichere Bahnsysteme, die weltweit vor allem in Steinkohlebergwerken sowie beim Abbau von Gold, Platin und anderen Erzen unter Tage eingesetzt werden.
